About Hosscar Lawn Mower Racing
Written by Tom Holland, King Ferry N.Y.

Hosscar started in 1999 when Bill, (HOSS) Mcgarry, Fred Delaney and Harry Zerbil decided to race their lawn mowers around the yard one summer day because they were bored. They observed young kids racing battery operated cars nearby, so it gave them the idea. Soon they started on ways to increase their speed and paint schemes. It wasn't long after more of us started to race too, and Hosscar is what it is today.

Hosscar is 100% for charity and raise more money each year. We estimate we have raised close to $80,000 towards people in need in our, and surrounding communities. The mowers can go as fast as 50-70 miles per hour. There are 3 classes of mowers and 2 classes of go-carts. Our events are about 3-4 hours long and we have 5-7 races per year. We also put on 2 spaghetti suppers a year.

As of now there are no races scheduled for the 2007 season.
